Hi, 1a) What is your currently preferred PHP IDE?
Eclipse PDT 1b) What are the pros and cons of it? Pros: free autocompletion, easy classes navigation through references, xdebug integration, lot of plugins a bit OT: I used it also for java dev, (actually eclipse with myeclipse plugin), deployment tools and refactoring tools in particular were super handy. Cons: html edition not great (autoformatting real weak in particular), a bit heavy, but I just got a new machine and this is not really an issue anymore for me No proper symfony plugin (yet) some random bugs here and there - svn plugin doesn't work very well for me - "link explorer files with editor" doesn't work with one of my projects - I also had with the previous versions pbs with xdebug, but that works fine now 2) What other PHP IDE’s have you had experience with? Not really, I occasionally use vi when I did to edit stuff on the server, but not a great fan I also tried a few others (eclipse based), but was never convinced 2009/10/21 Cliff Black <[email protected]> > Hi all, > > > > Inspired by Berend’s OT post about nVidia’s IDE of choice, I'd like to > gauge the following amongst the NZ PHPers: > > > > 1a) What is your currently preferred PHP IDE? > > 1b) What are the pros and cons of it? > > > > 2) What other PHP IDE’s have you had experience with? > > > > If I have enough results, I'll stick some graphs up etc. > > > > > > Here's my answers: > > > > 1a) What is your currently preferred IDE? > > > > Zend Studio 7.1 Beta > > > > 1b) What are the pros and cons of it? > > > > Pros: Full integration with the Zend suites - Server/Platform/Debug and of > course Zend Framework. > > SVN integration, and the ability to work on remote projects via > SFTP/FTP > > > > Cons: Still beta, as it fixes a nasty bug with 'intellisense' > > Prone to the odd crash. > > > > 2) What other IDE’s have you had experience with? > > > > Zend Studio 5/6/7 > > Eclipse PDT > > VS.php > > Dreamweaver > > Basic Text Editors (notepad/vim etc) > > > > ~ C > > > > PS: originally sent from the wrong address – I assume Google groups killed > it for being from an un registered address. > > > > > __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus > signature database 4527 (20091020) __________ > > The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. > > http://www.eset.com > > > > -- Mikael Letang Mobile: 021 027 436 45 Skype: mikaelletangns --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NZ PHP Users Group: http://groups.google.com/group/nzphpug To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
