You can produce complete software systems with security, extensibility and performance in mind. You need recent commercial experience with a CRUD/ application framework as well as an open source CMS. At the same time you are keen to widen your skill set by gaining experience with Joomla, Drupal or Symfony. You consider working with common JavaScript libraries a given. You also need competency with regular expressions and AJAX on a library level. Finally you need to be able to convert graphic design layouts into pixel perfect, usability compliant XHTML/CSS templates which also keep content variations of fully dynamic systems in mind. You need to be able to test these in major current web browsers. Knowledge of Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, MSSQL, WebDAV, Payment gateways, screen scraping, IMAP, PDF generation, JSON, XSS, MySQL replication and query optimisation, AMFPHP/ Flex, mass email, mod_rewrite and advanced Apache configuration would be beneficial. You are fluent with advanced SVN version management and adhere to strict coding standards. Efficiency and automation are paramount to us – therefore you won't be bothered with endless email conversations and you can use our bug and time tracking systems to save time and concentrate on coding. We expect applicants to have extensive commercial experience, including being able to quote accurately and deliver to tight deadlines. You must also have your complete tool chain of PHP, MySQL, HTTP and JavaScript debugging tools ready at all times; and you are able to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively. You enjoy the challenge of unusual requirements. You are seeking to develop as a programmer, and to raise and widen your service portfolio. The ideal person would already have experience in commercial training and mentoring on programming topics. Over a period of 2-3 months we plan to slowly build up a working relationship with you and become your sole sales channel to provide you with 25-40 hours of billable work per week. We expect that you will want to dedicate significant time to past work commitments as well as hobby and part-time projects. This role can be fulfilled from anywhere in New Zealand or Australia and we would consider offering you office space after the transition period.
