Hi all - this may be slightly OT but I'm throwing it in here anyway.
I've been asked to find a software solution for a local fishing club.
They want to be able to pick from preset species/weights/quantities at
weigh in time something like this.
Anglers Name | species list | weights |quantities for each species
|total points for his catch.
So for example:
Joe Bloggs turns up at weigh-in with 3 snapper of 1, 2, and 3kg, he also
has 2 trevally of 2 and 4kg weights.
Each species would have points allocated by weight. So for example:
A 1kg snapper might be worth 30 points, and a 2kg snapper might be worth
45 points.
A 1kg Trevally might be worth 20 points and 35points for a 2kg.
What they want the software to do. (and not do)
They want the software to add up the points (per fish) for each fish in
each species caught and provide sub-total and grand total.
(They don't want it to add 3 fish together and allocate points as if it
were one big fish)
I'm imagining something with dropdown lists of species and weight-brackets.
Like a spreadsheet with all the competitors names down one column,
species and weight dropdowns in the following columns etc.
Could this even be done with excel perhaps?
Is there a cms or something out there that would come close?
