I've moved largely out of IT in art, but ...

Scoping out what it would take to develop a app that either reads a QR ?
code , and streams data about an artwork (past or present )once onsite .

( I figured it would be way too large to store it on the Smartphone if I
have sound/ film/photos ... ,although obviously there will be a cost to the
user in data charges)

What do people think of Android Studio ? as a learining environment for me
as a newbie, never developed a smartphone app .

If my app for funding is successful, I would probably employ someone to do
the main coding , as its not my area of expertise

I really liked going to Mona in Hobart ,where they supply you with an Ipod,
it reads your proximity to a art work , and displays the relevant info

The app needs to be robust and easy to use , not too much if any ID onsite

Cheers
Mike
