0. Not too many Symfony contract job there (once a year , may be one), most
Symfony jobs are permanent.
1. The contract job market is too small here, I had stayed home searching
for contract jobs and without any success for 3 month (lacking social skill)
, and finally decided to take a permanent job.
2. Symfony is for building web application, not for web sites, there are
many companies just want a web site, not web application.
this leave only one kind of company will choose Symfony, the company
who want to build a product.
3. More and more PHP developer are changing they career , because Frontend
developement make more, especially Javascript developer.
4. Symfony may not popular any more, web industry just following trends
like fashion, "laravel" is new cool thing in PHP land.
6. Local company choose is
If you asking Drupal/Wordpress/Javascript contract, you will receive many
responses.
If you project is small, asking for contracting in NZ is really not a good
choice, from my own experience ,
1 or 2 weeks contract does not make sense since to get those short job, i
have to spend at least one week to get it.
