I would rather avoid such characters.

Btw, this code doesn't just look like the Guava Stopwatch, but in my view is a 
copy of the Guava code. If that's the case, then we have to retain the 
copyright that's present in the header of the Guava source. At least that's my 
interpretation of the Apache License v2 / 4c.
