Herman Ciechanowiec commented on OAK-12089:
-------------------------------------------

Hello team. Is there an approximate timeline or roadmap for when Lucene 9 (and
eventually Lucene 10) support will be implemented and released? We are
currently deciding between {{pgvector}} and JCR Oak for a new project. We would
love to stick with JCR Oak, but older Lucene versions lack the advanced vector
search capabilities we need for efficient embeddings search. Any insights on
your timeline would be greatly appreciated!

> Currently OAK is using version 4.7.2 which dates back to Apr 14, 2014 (+10
> years old), that is no longer supported and has required Lucene to be
> embedded vulnerabilities are fixed.
> Current supported versions are 9.x and 10.x. The goal of this ticket is to
> progress on upgrading Lucene to a more recent version.
