Also fixed openssl in revision 9b5a2424d449ed475473d68482b5cb042d1f22af
I think that we probably need to suport both methods since the autoconf clases
that these variables are meant for appear to handle both fine. This
functionality probably should be moved to somewhere central I suppose.
Anyway, if your happy with the changes please close this bug.
I could still apply the update site files but maybe it's not needed now?
