Hi folks, Those of you engaged in any level of international ecommerce (or related development) might find the info at the URL below very of great concern:
http://www.fightthepatent.co.nz/ Follow the link to the Herald articles therein and you'll quickly see what I mean. Some issues are still a bit vague, specifically *precisely* what areas the patent holders are attempting to "tax". But if it is more than a very narrow area, or a bit of posturing, there's a battle ahead. All that's clear right now is that the patent exists, it is CURRENTLY valid in NZ, and certain NZ e-tailers are already being approached to "pay up, or desist from trading". cheers, peter =========================================== Peter Hyde, Development Director, SPIS Ltd, Christchurch, New Zealand * TCompress/TCompLHA component sets for Delphi/Kylix/C++ * TurboNote+: http://TurboNote.com -- top-rated onscreen sticky notes Find all the above and MORE at http://spis.co.nz --------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Zealand Delphi Users group - Offtopic List - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://www.delphi.org.nz To UnSub, send email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body of "unsubscribe offtopic" Web Archive at: http://www.mail-archive.com/offtopic%40delphi.org.nz/
