I thought it was a good idea because you were already doing the primary duties -- keeping notes, building the membership roster, and preparing the voting system. Now that the OGB is larger and less dependent on way-too-busy-and-unpaid-outsiders, that role could be picked up by one of the OGB members. It doesn't matter who is chosen, provided they are willing and able to do (or supervise) the work. The option of it not being an OGB member is just to make it possible for the role to be filled by anyone who is going to be attending most of the meetings. Many of the corporate boards that I've been on have used a lawyer for that role, but that is not necessary here. Apache has a long-time board member who keeps volunteering year after year. Secretary is not an easy job, so it's best to be flexible about who fills the role. ....Roy
