After reviewing the above election notices and the Constitution (s5.7-5.9), the OGB is obligated to stick as close to what we posted as we can, mainly: "In order to participate in this election, you need to have an unexpired verified Core Contributor grant and you must have logged into the new OpenSolaris Auth system and have authenticated your account. If both things have not occurred by February 14, 2010 (23:59hrs PT), then you will not be eligible to vote in this election." Feb 20th is a good Record Date. Allowing six days from the 14th to process the grant requests, but still outside the three (3) days prior to the Members Meeting. So these numbers are valid: Electorate: 377 Majority: 190 Quorum: 126 As was originally posted by Valerie here (see Quorum number at bottom): http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=124643&tstart=0 The OGB has some latitude in these matters, and operated openly and in good faith relative to the Constitution and to the OpenSolaris community. --- I propose we formally notify the community of the 2010 Record Date and revise the Members Meeting Quorum amount back to 126 while the Members Meeting is in progress to further establish the Record Date of Members prior to the election. Furthermore, I request on behave of the OGB that the website team abide by the 2010 election process set forth by the OGB and refer all election related matters to the OGB on a case by case basis for our consideration and do not set expectations one way or another in terms of voter eligibility. Specifically, I propose that any Core Contributor that authenticates their account between the Record Date and the start of the election is tracked via a bug, so that the OGB can decide how they should be handled. Cheers, Jim
