At some point, I could give a short report on what I think we
need to better support the areas I'm working on. But, I tend
to find it, leverage it, or build it with a lot of help from
my friends who have similar desires to make OpenSolaris
successful in pretty short order. To me, this is basic stuff
(ie. we need to provide the community what they need to be
successful).

I'm still looking for more synergy between fellow OGB members
and the community (ie. I would like to see where our visions
overlap and pursue those unions that have the most merit).
That's why I'm interested in a suggestion wiki (running poll).
These are the objectives I was talking about.

I think it would also be good for us to interact with other
similar open source bodies and compare notes. I think we are
almost mature enough to give as much as we will receive from
such interactions. And, we may find some common ground that
can take us even further then we can get on our own.

Also, I consider OpenSolaris outreach part of my day job already.

Is this the kind of stuff you want?

I'm helping with the Apps of Steel contest that's underway now.
(contests are a lot of work)

Here's some talks I'm leading or giving...

OpenSolaris Overview at Student Tech Camp Broomfield, April 23
Open HA Testing at Cluster Summit San Fransisco, May 31
Porting Overview at CommunityOne San Fransisco, June 1
Porting Deep Dive at CommunityOne San Fransisco, June 2

I'm also organizing OpenSolaris Testing and Porting Pods in the
CommunityOne pavilion June 1-3.

...

Anyway, I'm sure we could fill the calendar, if we all put
events we were at. Simon could probably fill the calendar
on his own. This may be good to do.

Cheers,
Jim
