It is good to see you can occasionally find the same rumours over the 
pacific. ;-)

We have about 14 gaming stores in Melbourne that I know of (pop 3mill) and 
did the rounds
to let stores know of CC (and other d20 stuff). The stores that took me 
seriously got 8 copies
each (with another 8 coming later in this week), none of them expect to 
have any on the shelves
for a fortnight at least because of pre-orders from advertising.
Stores that thought I was full of it got a couple of copies and are trying 
to get more and losing
sales to other stores.

I think the real test for CC won't come until six months down the track or 
at least until RR
comes out. One store reckons just over 1 in 4 of people buying MM wanted CC 
and not many
asked about the price (hell I don't know how much mine cost).
