According to an e-mail from Wizards of the Coast Public Relations
coordinator Alaina Capoeman, Wizards of the Coast has "been granted
exclusive rights from Chaosium Inc. to publish the D20 Rulebook for the
Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game."
The e-mail goes on to say: "Call of Cthulhu, based primarily on the
writings of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, was first published in 1981.
Lovecraft, a seminal horror writer whose best-known works appeared in pulp
magazines in the 1930's.
"Chaosium will continue to create supplements for the game. They also
publish a respected line of Call of Cthulhu fiction, now numbering 30+
titles. Chaosium Inc., founded in 1975, and is one of the original
publishers of paper roleplaying games. Famous for the excellence of its
game designs, Chaosium has won more industry awards than any other company
in adventure gaming."
The rulebook, debuting in Fall 2001 at $39.95, is "for all fans of Call
of Cthulhu." Look for it in quality stores everywhere.
