What I tried to do was to remove any specific material components where
doing so did not affect the spell in question. The reason is that spell
components fall into two categories: Those that are supposed to be so cheap
and plentiful that any mage with a "spell component pouch" always has them,
and those that carry a listed GP cost to require people to actually spend
money to cast the spells.

In the case of the former, it is sufficient for a DM to know that a spell
component is required, that it should be cheap and easily accessible, and
the only time he/she needs to worry about the issue is if the spellcaster in
question has somehow gotten separated from their basic spell supplies.

In the case of the latter, the GP value is far more important than the
actual material used, and a DM should be able to easily substitute anything
they want of a similar value.
