For those that may be new to the list, the basic idea I have been working
on is software that will generate a "place of adventure" [read dungeon,
town, etc] and populate it, with various monsters, NPC, treasure hoards,
etc, and present it as either a web page or a downloaded-able file or set
of files. The out put of this software will be fully D20STL
compliant, the software it self is another matter.

So, there I was, happily coding away at my D20 DM support software, when I
relished that my NPC generator modal was _real_ damn close to a character
generator

This, needless to say, raises some D20 STL problems.

What I am looking for is how I can go about this with out running into
some STL legal walls.

I have some ideas and I would like some feedback on which one (or more) of
them will get me out of this bind.

1) Don't generate a NPC at all, just say "Snerd, FTR1" and go on. I
don't like this, for a couple of reasons.

2) Go ahead an do it any way because NPC don't count. (yeah, right, like
that's going to fly)

3) Not release the software as D20, but have it's output (either a text
file or a web page) be D20. I _really_ want to go with this idea. The
software _will_ be both OGL and GPLed any way. In other words, it's a
OGL product that makes D20STL output.

4) Pre-generate, by some sort of means, several hundred characters, and have
the Web page generator yank them out of the NPC file as needed.

Ryan? Lawyer types? Non Lawyer types with some ideas?
