Ah HA! So there _is_ an industry. ; ) It doesn't matter how it "works".
What matters is that the primary salespeople don't know how to represent
d20 companies or products. That needs to be fixed. So, a lot of
comments suggested that mail is not the best solution, but that just
means we have to come up with a better idea, not ignore the problem
because of tradition.
Remember the

This is exactly my point, though. Do you want word of mouth to be the
strongest marketing tool when the information isn't correct? "Word of
mouth" is why it took me 6 months to figure out what d20 was about. I
know that in time most people have the correct information, but how much
time? Get it in their face and start increasing your sales _now_ so you
can go on to make even bigger and better products. I'm not saying the
industry doesn't "work" I'm saying that it could be better.
