BTW we sat down with a bunch of 3rd edition characters run by jaded, aging 
gamers the other day to play the "converted" version of "Slavers" from 
Eric's site and started into that old "hack and slash" mode and . . .

. . . simply

. . . had

. . . a

. . . BLAST!

For the original, slug-fest, slay 'em all & let Cuthbert sort-em-out type of 
rock & roll experience, I can honestly say I have not had that kind of just 
plain raucous FUN playing D&D since - well, probably since "Slavers" was 
first on the shelves.

Kudos to 3E and the "Feat" and "Prestige Class" system for bringing back the 
magic.  Now we just have to figure out how to un-petrify the Sorcerer (who 
got hit with basilisk gaze attack and was (unhappily) the ONLY character 
with a "Stone to Flesh" scroll.)
