Presumably people would negotiate with WotC for an expensive and restricted license to use the D&D trademark on things like movies, CDs, books, clothing, etc. WotC will be able to say "give us big money" and "NO" to people who want to put D&D on material they don't want to be associated with, say cigarettes or the "highschool gunman RPG." --Kal
