        I agree with your assessment of the situation. While your 
example may have been clear-cut, chances are that the reality of 
the situation will be much much worse as an author picks and 
choose what he uses and bases other material off of. A previous 
author may write one section that is based off some previous work, 
but not list it (by oversight, not intention in this example). In such a 
case, this can infringe upon the original author.....

I have been involved in the development of several of ICE's books in 
the past few years, and all I have ever asked the authors of those 
books for was to mention the aid I have given in the credits. (If you 
own ICE's Channeling Companion, then you can check to see what 
I am talking about)
