Ryan-

I just came from an RPGA Living Greyhawk writer's meeting, where I told
everyone about the OGF and the D20 STL. They were happy to get a peek at
the 3e PHB, and people were interested in using it for their modules.
Inevitably there were a few questions I couldn't answer. Number one was
this: could authors expect to be able to use the Living Greyhawk trademark
(either logo or text) on their modules? Also, how do the rights of authors
relate to the rights of the RPGA (or Dungeon, or Dragon) if the author also
wants to use the OGL?

Hypothetically speaking, would WotC be willing to grant permission for a
specific author to say "Approved for Use in Living Greyhawk", or "As Seen in
Dungeon Magazine" or "Featured in Dragon Magazine" on the cover of their
open/closed d20 or OGL product? I expect that the marks would be different
than those used for "official" products which might be released by the RPGA
or WotC, much like the web logos you allow folks to use instead of the
official graphics.

This could be a huge boon to the OGF and it's supporters, while using an
existing structure (the editors of Dungeon, Dragon, and the RPGA) to screen
material and assure that it measured up to the proper standards WotC has set
for the D&D brand. The only downside I can see here is if the RPGA, Dragon,
or Dungeon intends to release these products on their own and would
therefore be competing with the original authors.
