There's an interesting debate going on between Microsoft and the Open Source
community. For a response to many of Microsoft's claims and currently
announced plans, you might want to take a look at http://shared-source.com/

This debate has interesting ramifications for the Open Gaming movement,
inasmuch as our main current license (the OGL) is something of a hybrid of
these two points of view; preserving on the one hand certain intellectual
property rights to the creators of content, while extending on the other
hand, essentially unlimited rights for certain other kinds of content.
