I have seen ONE PERSON post things about Mongoose that seemed a little on the inflammatory and insulting side. I have also seen many others post constructive suggestions and criticism which you immediately jumped all over and slammed as mudslinging.... endured more mud-slinging than I deem purely necessary
and had an utter monkey suggest that everyone goes out and starts posting negative reviews.Since I actually read the post from the "utter monkey" I can tell you that that was NOT what he said. What he did say was that it would be a good thing if people who posted reviews would take bad-OGL declarations into account when they did so. He is dead right.
Still, being the (very conservative) poster that he is he then proceeded to post no less than three retractions saying that he EMPHATICALLY was not suggesting a smear campaign against Mongoose.
I think I can speak for most of the list when I say that we are very happy that you are revising your method of declaring OGC. Bravo for you! I also want to sincerely say that you are NOT being "slammed" nearly to the extent you seem to think you are. Yes, there are some people on this list who occasionally cross the line. This happens. By an large when they do so they are willing to apologize.
What >IS< happening is that Mongoose's CURRENT publications are being held up and discussed as examples. Had you been on this list for any length of time you would have seen many other companies go through the same or similar processes - all of them (and I do mean ALL) with a good deal more grace than you seem to be showing.
At least, not a one has ever resorted to childish name calling before.
