Certainly. When I get my internet connection working reliably, I'll
set it up to 'git svn rebase; git push' once a day.

I would have to discuss this with James (among other things it would
require me to have commit authorization for SVN). Currently this seems
feasible - with the caveat that I insist on the main repo having only
one branch at a time. (clones, obviously, can have as many as they
want)

Without any special arrangements required, it is already possible to
build patch sets for SVN and commit them (assuming you have
appropriate authorization), using the git svn layer.
