It was reported that movement suddenly became jerky in the nightlies:

"It seems to have started in the Nov 25th nightly. The problem is extremely bad
in that nightly, and has since gotten much milder."
The problem seems to be that when a key is down, the sleep call in dowait is
being interrupted. For some reason, it becomes really inaccurate, and the fps
goes all over the place.
