I haven't asked for 6 months or so now. Where does everybody think we are in terms of being able to switch to a minimum of C++11?
Obviously, existing stable releases (OIIO 1.5) are what they are, and you can keep using them indefinitely, and I'll try to fix important bugs as long as necessary. But for *next* major releases (OIIO 1.6, and also OSL 1.7 for those who care), are there still people who anticipate the requirement to build and link with C++03 compatibility late this year and into next year -- and would not be able to make due with the current C++03-compatible releases (e.g. OIIO 1.5)? Keep in mind that http://www.vfxplatform.com/ is recommending C++11 for anything released in CY2015, which really should mean anything being developed now. I would sure like to throw the switch in the not-distant future, but don't want to leave people stranded. -- Larry Gritz [email protected] _______________________________________________ Oiio-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openimageio.org/listinfo.cgi/oiio-dev-openimageio.org
