If you are Military VET, Lowe's will give you 10% off . Take a copy of your
DD214 or something that shows you are a Vet. Some clerks will do it just by
saying but others will want to see the paper. Also, you get cash back if you
use a Discover Card.

Also, for the welding that you do, try to standardize on the wire size so you
get used to it.
I would use the .025 on sheet metal repair but for heavier metals, you can use
.030 or .035 wire. I use .030 (not flux type) on sheetmetal, but it needs
more grinding. I use the .030 on frame and other fab work with 1/4" metal, and
it works fine, you can always make more than one pass as long as you get good
penetration.
The Lincoln will have a chart for the speed and amp setting. Go by that and
change as needed, because some times you need to change speed or amps from the
chart, esp. when making more than one pass.

I do have a bottle of gas that I use. I bought my bottle at the welding shop.
If you are not going to do much welding , you can get by with the small or
medium bottle but when I got mine, they offered me the larger bottle for $10
more so I took it. Yes, it will last a long time but if at some point, I get
to welding more at once, I have enough gas to keep from going to welding shop.
Which for me living in the country, I have to drive about 15 miles to get to
shop to exchange.

Hope this helps.

Just my Thoughts,
Walt
