The DMV/RMV will always want the original paint so never , _EVER_ tell them you
re painted them , rather just show them and *if* they get suspicious , tell
them they're new old stock you bought at an Auto Swap Meet then hand polished &
waxed , don't they look nice ? .

After your truck is registered to them , you can get new metal license plates
made to order with whatever colors you want , most Cops won't really care , if
you get a ticket , just sign it and motor on home , swap the on correct color
plates and then have the ticket dismissed , never , _EVER_ admit you re painted
plates nor tried using reproduction plates ! .

Many years ago back when all California had was black with yellow ochre digits
, my buddy Mr. Ron hand painted the front plate on his old Jaguar white with
black digits and got a ticket .

Them Commissioner Thomas liked how it looked *so* much , he had Mr. Ron bring
in the correct black & yellow rear tag and then kept them both on the wall of
his Chambers....

Oops .
