I have all the the "oss" modules in my modprobe.preload config file
I must configure so all my PCs, so it's an operation i do in all installations for example, to play vmplayer with macosx audio, in the proper way but also for other apps, I have had never problems enabling them, because pulse use alsa not oss, then I must configure each single app to use the device /dev/dsp /dev/audio Make a try! You can try, enabling them in your /etc/modprobe.preload so you can verify that all programs, if not differently specified, use pulse / alsa by default bye, NicCo Il Sabato 9 Novembre 2013 11:50, Jochen Schönfelder <[email protected]> ha scritto: Ahoi! And Desktop software may prefer the old /dev/dsp device over PA if snd-pcm-oss is loaded. So don't know.. However: if we enable the oss compatibility layer by default, I'd suggest to load all of it (snd-pcm-oss, snd-seq-oss, snd-mixer-oss). arisel
