personally, in vbox, had problems with network that doesn't start no
more, while with -1 version is working

Running OMV 2014.1/2: this morning I updated the kernel to
3.18.14-2OMV then rebooted. I just got a black screen and nothing else.
I had to reboot in Recovery Mode then remove kernel 3.18.14-1OMV.
After that all was okay.
I am running kernel version nrjQL-desktop.
