I am working on ctfconvert, so I need the ctf tools to come from my local src tree, but the compilers should come from the usual spot. It would really help me get my bearings if the DevRef had a summary of the most useful make targets and variables for dealing with local tools changes. I've had multiple problems related to my variable settings and my proto setup.
