Hi Everyone

Totally agree with the general conclusion to have one portal that is used for
both NFVI & VNF (both Dovtail and VNFSDK will submit their results to).

I think more discussion is needed to understand where best the current VPP
portal functionalities needs to reside (to check Heat/Tosca templates), with
possible options to be:

・ Standalone as it is today (I strongly discourage that)

・ Within the same combined verified portal.

o During submission phase as per Morgan suggestion.

・ Within ONAP SDC itself ?

o Define more dynamic way to check against provided metadata (as requirements
could change quickly, with more standardisation efforts feeding in)

Is it worth bringing in those discussion to next CVC meeting? Would be good to
have representatives from the different projects involved. Certainly will be
great to know the outcome of tomorrows meeting.

Great discussion and certainly the right thing to be discussing.

Thanks
Yours,
Rabi

ONAP VVP portal integration

Hi Morgan,

Right. In my opinion, the key point is clarifying the usage of
dovetail portal(verified.opnfv.org) and VVP portal firstly.

I agree we should have one VVP/VNFSDK meeting for CVC from ONAP
perspective. It would be great if dovetail expert could join this meeting and
clarify this.

I will attend VVP meeting tomorrow. We could have more detail
discussion on the call.

主题: Re: [compliance] [LFN][Certification] LFN certification, Dovetail & ONAP
VVP portal integration

Hi

I think we are globally aligned.
The proposition mentioned by Xudan consisting in extending the current
Mongo/Test API and including an ONAP part is fine.
The proposal from VVP was a contribution proposal, we already have some code
and wonder how to integrate it accordinggly.

As far as I understand, it is also aligned with the different presentation done
by Chris.
OPNFV is in charged of infrastructure certification. In Amsterdam, Orange
indicated that we would like to leverage the expectations and reuse more
massively testing suites already available in OPNFV (not just take a very
limited subset) and delegate more the choice of the use cases to the test
projects.
VNFSDK is leading the VNF certification (seen from an ONAP perspective) .
VNF certification has been detailed with a roadmap shared during certification
meeting including
- VNF packaging (badged)
- VNF documentation (badged)
- VNF Life cycle (verified)
- VNF functional testing (verified)
- VNF Benchmark (verified)

packaging, documentation and VNF life cycle were announced for end of 2018 but
due to people moves, I assume it has been postponed.

VVP part is dealing with VNF packaging dealing only with Heat template.
My understanding of VNFSDK was that is was dealing with TOSCA packaging +
working on the other aspects from doc bading to VNF benchmark through the
development of a dedicated SDK.
But maybe I am wrong.

It would maybe make sense to have only 1 VVP/VNFSDK meeting to avoid
misunderstandings.

VVP has been used by different service providers. We developed portals in //.
Unlike of current OVP portal where people have to test using dovetails
artifacts then report the results on the ovp portal, it is possible here to do
the 2 operations in 1 step.
In fact VNF providers can submit their heat templates on the portal, testing is
processed in back end then results are displayed. If OK VNF could be
automatically added to the list.

The idea would be to integrate one (already existing) portal for the community
and reference VNF providers whose heat packaging is compliant from a VVP
perspective.
I think It would be valuable for everybody

I take the point to prepare some slides for Tuesday to illustrate that.

/Morgan

The “one portal” approach is exactly what vvp-web should add to. We would like
to integrate the vvp-validation-script Heat validation into the OPNFV verified
portal. At the end there should be one VNF certification portal which provides
OPNF, VVP and VNFSDK validation.

Betreff: RE: [compliance] [LFN][Certification] LFN certification, Dovetail &
ONAP VVP portal integration

Folks: there are actually three types of VNF ‘certification/validation’ C VVP
(initial ONAP VNF check based on heat), VNFSDK (Newer ONAP check - more
generic), OPNFV.
All three should be combined into one even though the ‘certification’ may be
slightly different focuses. We do want one portal for folks to ‘choose’ the
certification/validation they want to have their VNFs checked against.
I haven’t been following this the last 2 years since Chris was leading this. So
not sure where we are in direction.

I suggest that we cover the following as we converge:

  1. We focus on VNF to make sure they are supported in the OPNFV and ONAP
environment
  2. We focus on PNFs to make sure they are supported in the ONAP environment
and work with the VNFs in both the OPNFV and ONAP environments
  3. Areas which VNFs/PNFs need to conform to:

     * All the artifacts which are necessary to be designed and run in an
ONAP environment
     * Basic tests which validate the VNF/PNF is running in an ONAP
environment and VNF running in OPNFV environment C onboarding, basic
configuration for basic user data passing through and basic data collection.
     * Longer term get to more elaborate tests like congestion, performance

Subject: Re: [compliance] [LFN][Certification] LFN certification, Dovetail &
ONAP VVP portal integration

Hi Morgan,

As the wiki page said, VVP web is a web-based validation platform with one
click. It is different from OVP web portal and also the ONAP portal we are
developing now.
Current OVP web [1] is used by the step 3 of the OVP workflow “submitting test
results”. All test cases are executed in step 2 with OVP testing tool dovetail.
So the web portal is only used for submitting results and reviewing the
vendors’ results online.
VNF SDK also do like this, test with a tool locally and upload the results with
the ONAP web portal (we are still working on de development).

Stamatis, Panag and me will participate the Plugfest and look forward to talk
with you.

Also Stamatis and Panag have proposed an solution for the ONAP integration. In
order to make the proposal more comprehensible, a ppt is also attached to this
email. Based on the ppt, our proposal is the following:

Current State
Key Components
MongoDB instance: The database which contains OPNFV test case results and
Product Applications
REST API instance: The python server which receives HTTP requests and performs
transactions to MongoDB (upload results, applications, etc.)
Web Portal instance: The existing OPNFV Verification Web Portal found at [1],
through which the HTTP requests are directed to REST API

Desired State
Key Components
MongoDB instance: The same database, extended with new indexes for ONAP test
case results, VNF applications etc.
REST API instance: The same python server, extended with new rest URIs for
ONAP-based transactions on MongoDB (upload results, applications, etc.)
OPNFV Web Portal Instance: The exact same web portal found at
https://verified.opnfv.org/ (or similar)
ONAP Web Portal Instance: The Web Portal for the ONAP Verification found at
https://verified.onap.org/ (or similar)
Linux Foundation Verification Page: A single page which redirects the user to
either OPNFV or ONAP web portals, found at
https://verified.linuxfoundation.org/ (or similar)

Implementation Details
Modify Docker Deployment to instantiate not only the OPNFV portal container but
also a ONAP portal container and a generic Linux Foundation portal container
Create ONAP portal code based on the existing OPNFV portal code as a first
step. Modify it in terms of content as a second step (logos, text, fonts, form
fields, table columns etc.)
NOTE: Adjust to VNFSDK requirements found here:
https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/display/LN/Portal
Create A simple one page for Linux Foundation welcome page
NOTE: Ask for content from Linux Foundation Marketing or anyone in charge
Modify the REST API to be able to perform ONAP-based transactions to MongoDB

Outcome
A prototype ready for demonstration at OPNFV+ONAP Plugfest in January

We are open to suggestions but keep in mind that time and resources are
limited. Hence, after serious consideration the aforementioned proposal appears
to be the best way to proceed.

Subject: 答复: [LFN][Certification] LFN certification, Dovetail & ONAP VVP portal
integration

Hi Morgan,

This is Victor from VNFSDK team.

Regarding the portal requirements for VVP, I will like we could
have a look at the requirements from VNFSDK.(
https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/display/LN/Portal).

From CVC perspective, both VNFSDK and VVP are the xNFs test
tools, we could merge the portal. VNFSDK already implemented some VNF Packages
validation
requirements<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/LFN+CVC+Testing+in+VNFSDK>.

We could discuss this on VVP weekly meeting or VNFSDK weekly
meeting.

主题: [onap-discuss] [LFN][Certification] LFN certification, Dovetail & ONAP VVP
portal integration

Hi Dovetail team,

the ONAP VVP team
(https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/VNF+Validation+Program+Proposals) initiated
some Epics for the next ONAP release Dublin (Code freeze end of March 2019).
One of them deals with a VVP-Portal: https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/VVP-Web
VVP consists in a suite of rules to validate the VNF heat templates for ONAP,
VVP-Portal offers a web interface to self test the heat templates.

There were some discussions on the integration of VNF packaging checks for next
Dovetail release initiated by Chris Donley before he left.
I imagine that it could be possible to include an instance of VVP-WEB portal in
OVP portal https://verified.opnfv.org/
There is already a rich up&running prototype developed by Vincent.

The goal would be similar than for the infrastructure verification:
- allow VNF providers/Service Providers to upload their VNF heat templates
- provide feedback from VVP (Ice validator scripts maintained by VVP team)
- If VNF provider agree => add the VNF on a public page to reference the VNF
that passed successfully VVP.

Reusing the existing web site will allo to leverage LF authentication, artifact
management & integrity that you already put in place for the infrastructure
tests.

Could it be possible that some people from Dovetail join the next VVP meeting
(Tuesday 4th of December 4PM UTC - details below) to see the right way to
integrate VVP portal behind verified.opnfv.org (that could be renamed
verified.lfnetworking.org)
I do not know if some of you planned to participate to the Plugfest beginning
of January, it could be a good occasion to work concretely on this integration.

Thanks & Regards

Morgan
