Count conducted from the South Lookout. Overcast to start with clearing to mostly sunny throughout the afternoon. Moderate northwesterly winds. Temperatures reaching the mid-40s. Raptor Observations: While it was still cloudy the westerly winds kicked up a flight of broad-wings high overhead with some disappearing into the clouds. Larger groups as the sun came out for a few hours then smaller groups through the end of the count. Most were very high and difficult to spot. A total of around 1,100 broad-wings for the day. Smaller numbers of other expected migrants including 70 Turkey Vultures, 14 Bald Eagles, and 19 Red-tailed Hawks. Two immature GOLDEN EAGLES migrated within two minutes of each other. An adult Peregrine Falcon came through low at the end of the count.
