+1 also (as a mentor, I think it's a good idea).
Proposals don't necessarily need a whole lot of +1s to follow them, but
it does help to have a few people write back with their support (or
opposition) so it's obvious to the original proposer that they have
support of other community members.

hi all,
the ooo-dev list is available at gmane.org for NNTP access and via a web
frontend [0].
currently accessing this list via Gmane presents users not with the real
mail addresses of posters, but with mangled mail addresses, for example
<dennis.hamil...@acm.org>.
when replying to such an address, the gmane.org mail server will forward
the mail to the real (unmangled) address only after the sender has
answered a confirmation mail.
this makes it difficult for spammers to scrape the real mail addresses.
as has been discussed in a thread[1] on ooo-dev recently this mangling
is annoying.
as Gary Lee pointed out[2], the Apache mail archive itself already makes
the raw content of mails including real mail addresses available to web
scrapers, for example [3].
thus i propose to disable the address mangling at Gmane.
If there are no objections to the above proposal within 72 hours then
I will invoke Lazy Consensus and proceed to implement the above
proposal.
regards,
michael
PS: amazingly, if you look at the gmane.org homepage right now, ooo-dev
is the 5th most active list today.
