I started on revising the installation instructions for the 3.4 release:

mostly due to some of the known "issues" with upgrading on Linux. This,
of course, may change before the final release.
Meanwhile, if some of you could take a look at this document, the
revised version, and either make additional changes or submit patches
for it, that would be great. Some of the Windows area especially looks
questionable to me.
