I´ve got a Win2K vm too, haven´t attempted a AOO install. However one point
to keep in mind is that for Win2K to be usable with semi-recent software,
it´s needed to install at least Win2K SP4 + Update Rollup 2 (SR2).

Win2K SP4

"*Update Rollup 2 for Windows 2000 SP4* is an unofficial rollup style
package of updates. It is a cumulative update. It covers everything
starting from the official Update Rollup 1 up to EOL (End-of-life) of
Windows 2000 in July 2010. It can be installed in an existing Windows 2000
installation or slipstreamed (ex. using programs such as HFSLIP or nLite)."
