I'm thinking that PPC (non Macintosh) platforms, particularly current
offerings from IBM, ought to be a priority after x86. It looks to me
like the transition from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture, combined with
the IBM support of Linux, leaves PPC 64-bit architectures very
competitive with, if not currently ahead of, the 64-bit architecture
emerging from x86. Only the recalcitrant proprietary-binary-only
companies like MacroMedia still treat x86Linux as if it was the entire
Linux world and refuse to support things like Flash.swf on anything
other than x86. The definite advantages of PPC tend to compell it to be
the next supported architecture.

Also looking interesting are the carrier grade / embedded Compact PCI
systems that are heating up in the market now, as VoIP takes over for
the classic Inter-LATA switched network.
