2. Output a real video frame
2.1. Just syncs with constant data (all white screen)
2.2. Ramp (left edge is black, right edge is white)
2.3. Other test patterns like a box with an X in it the size of the screen.
Would the X11 "blank screen" (the single-pixel checkerboard pattern it uses) be useful? I've always thought of it as a monitor test, but maybe useful for a video card?
Also, a few months ago, a there was a lot of talk about gamma correction. Would displaying colors (or greys) that are gamma-adjusted linear gradients be useful?
