Peter, et al.
It could be made more clear in the README that you need to install modules
on the PostgreSQL server if you are running a separate server. The README
seems to assume that everything is being installed on the same hardware.
For a stand alone server, you could have copies the Evergreen tarball,
extracted it and run the following command as root:
make -f Open-ILS/src/extras/Makefile.install postgres-server-ubuntu-trusty
That would install the following packages:
gcc \
libbusiness-isbn-perl \
libjson-xs-perl \
liblibrary-callnumber-lc-perl \
libmarc-record-perl \
libmarc-xml-perl \
librose-uri-perl \
libuuid-tiny-perl \
libxml-libxml-perl \
libxml-libxslt-perl
in addition to those need by PostgreSQL.
The above could perhaps be better documented for a standalone database server.
Cheers,
Jason
Quoting Peter Lux <[email protected]>:
Ah yes. It's a new database server. Missing some Perl libraries.
Had to install MARC::Record, MARC::File::XML module, Business::ISBN module
to get past the error state.
DB server is Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. Install docs indicate that no extra
modules are required but I needed these three at least. May need to add
others as well or actually build openils.

Could you check the PostgreSQL log around the time of the error? It
should provide more details on how the SQL statement failed.
