http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-admin might help although it spans multiple versions and has a lot of holes as well. ________________________________________ From: open-ils-general-boun...@list.georgialibraries.org [open-ils-general-boun...@list.georgialibraries.org] On Behalf Of Steve Wills [steve.wi...@lyrasis.org] Sent: Friday, September 10, 2010 1:11 PM To: vic...@beau.org; Evergreen Discussion Group Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Is there a resource for initial setup
Hi Vicki! There are several documentation initives in the works but as of now there is not a comprehensive Administrators setup guide. The best place to start is http://open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php in terms of a repository of pages for admins. Asking questions in IRC and on the lists helps me a lot. It also flags what documentation we need to produce the soonest. We are collectively working on this and could always use more help! We've installed 1.6.0.3 and have a staff client running. As a team, we have experience with Linux, relational databases and vendor supplied library automation systems. But everything about getting the information, records, etc. for our library into Evergreen seems to require hours of wading through documentation plus trial/error ... mostly error ... figuring out what (if any) of it applies to our situation. Does anyone know the location of an overview of the setup process? I'm looking for something step by step - maybe like 'Evergreen For Dummies' All suggestions will be appreciated. Plus you can have the joy of knowing that you helped with what we think will be the first Evergreen library in Louisiana.
