Vickie, A large part of the challenge you mention is the migration of data from your old system into Evergreen. It's certainly a part of getting started on Evergreen but not strictly speaking an Evergreen issue. A person moving data from Horizon might have very different issues to face than someone moving from TLC for example. Because there is no universal standard for copy level records, patron records and so forth that stuff will have be mapped from what is was to what it will be.
There's already some advice given about using the IRC group and things like that but make sure you mention what you're using and the version to see if you can find someone with experience in doing that migration. They might save you a lot of grief. Rogan Hamby Systems Administrator, FCLS Systems Librarian, SCLENDs 509 S.
