Title: Data Modeler - ErWin posted on 2014-04-18 12:08:06 Job Description:*Job Title: Data Modeler - ErWin* *Location: Houston, TX* *Duration: 1 Year * *Job Description:* *5-10 years* Part of a large team dedicated to designing and building an enterprise-level system that captures, tracks, processes, and manages data related to global sales transactions, inventory, customer information, and partner information and compensation. * Work with the Architecture team to understand corporate data standards and incorporate them into the design of this new data storage solution. * Collaborate with business teams to interpret data requirements for defining and refining of data structures. * Design, create, and optimize logical and physical data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) using industry best practices to ensure high quality data and reduced redundancy. * Update and maintain logical and physical data models and corresponding metadata to support new and existing projects. * Work with the software application development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models. * Ensure consistency of data models by developing and following best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices. * Recommend reuse of data models in new environments when possible. * Reverse engineer physical data models from databases and SQL scripts. * Analyze data models and physical databases for any variances and discrepancies, and business data objects for accuracy and completeness. * Investigate data-related system integration challenges and recommend appropriate solutions * Consult with System Analysts, Engineers, Developers, etc. on project limitations/capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. * Evaluate new application design and enhancements and recommend efficiency and performance improvements if needed. *Skill Set:* * 8+ years of software design and development experience with at least 3 years of experience on large, enterprise application projects * 5+ years of recent experience as a Data Modeler * 2+ years of dedicated experience using ERwin * Strong background in development and optimization of Oracle database queries, stored procedures, etc. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with and across teams * Strong problem analysis and resolution skills *Preferred skills/experience:* * Any experience with other RDBMSs such as SQL Server, EnterpriseDB, etc. * Experience on business-related projects (e.g. customer information, sales, inventory, etc.) Job Requirements: data modeler - erwin, SQL Server, EnterpriseDB, customer information, sales, inventory *Click here to view full job description and apply <http://www.ejobsville.com/display-job/152844> (Registration not mandatory to apply for this job)* ------------------------------ Best regards, eJobsVille.com - For The Best Tech Jobs In Town -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
