Perhaps, but such a patent grant isn't going to make the linux people decide to export synchronize_rcu, etc for us to use. Actually, That doesn't seem to be relevant. I was under the impression that there were macros in the keyring stuff which caused its callers to gain direct references to the rcu code, but I can't find such a link right now.
