Harald,

The OSX DesktopServicesHelper does not make use of the unix mode bits to
make decisions. The OpenAFS 1.6.6 clients due not have support for the
recent changes in the OSX security profile. All AuriStor filesystem OSX
clients versions v0.105 and later satisfy the requirements of
DesktopServicesHelper without leaking the contents of the cache to
processes started as root.

AuriStor file system clients can be downloaded from

  https://www.auristor.com/filesystem/client-installer/

Sincerely,
