Yes, and it can be frustrating with all the differences.  I find that 
when I'm debugging problems I end up looking at all three layers 
separately from the outside in, and before I got used to doing this, 
there was much fumbling.

Apache configuration is a science unto itself.  Then there's the j2ee 
container (another science).  Then there's OpenBD.  Then there's the 
databases.  Then there's the jvm considerations.  Then there's the 
network and firewall configurations.  Then....etc.

I, for one, really appreciate the efforts of people who try to address 
all three as a whole, because it often helps me identify problems in the 
configuration of the individual components.

Thanks for the efforts guys, it is always appreciated.
