I figured anybody that was that concerned about keeping a history, etc. would just sign up so they could have the list of all url's they shortened.
I've decided that those url's that are shortened, like on bit.ly and tinyurl.com, won't be editable once they are created. I originally (and that's how it is now), had it so members could edit the redirect after they created it. So if I created details.at/JHKDF and it pointed to google.com, I'd be able to go in and change that to point to yahoo.com if I wanted to. But since I decided that if another person creates a redirect to that same site, they'd get the same details.at/JHKDF address, that kind of locks that address into the destination. So if someone could edit that, you wouldn't want that details.at/JHKDF address being dished out to other users. It could change on them. However, I was thinking about adding a "lock out" option so that users could in fact edit the urls. This way, if you choose to "lock out" the url, a new one would be created even if it was pointing to the same destination. -- Open BlueDragon Public Mailing List http://www.openbluedragon.org/ http://twitter.com/OpenBlueDragon mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en !! save a network - please trim replies before posting !!
