The thing that I keep going back to in my head is that this may just happen again, at which point we're back where we started. Maybe now that GAE is out of beta it'll be more stable and they'll be more responsive with bug fixes, but if nothing else this points out the big issue with vendor lockin. Also I haven't checked since they went out of beta and changed the pricing model, but are there still free options? I'm honestly looking for people's thoughts on this because as Alan has said it's a significant effort, and if Google continues to change and break things frequently it's a lot of time spent chasing our tails generating a lot of angry users in the process. -- Matthew Woodward [email protected] http://blog.mattwoodward.com identi.ca / Twitter: @mpwoodward Please do not send me proprietary file formats such as Word, PowerPoint, etc. as attachments. http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/no-word-attachments.html -- online documentation: http://openbd.org/manual/ google+ hints/tips: https://plus.google.com/115990347459711259462 http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en Join us @ http://www.OpenCFsummit.org/ Dallas, Feb 2012
