I tried to use openssl-SNAP-20010307 as told by Robert. I integrated it into
RH7.1 rpm packaging style. But this SNAP version seems not complete. Many other
things broke (mod_ssl, openssh). However, the -subj and getTXT problem solved.
I can now complete the CA initialization part.
Next, I use openssl-SNAP-20010817 and made into rpms. Many things work well
except openssh (because some function call have changed and it cannot
recompile). I removed everything that come with OpenCA and tried to re-install
it. I cannot compile OpenCA-SV! I skipped OpenCA-SV and let the rest
installed.... I cannot finish the CA Initialization!
Now I revert back to openssl-0.9.6b rpms that I made earlier. I can compile
OpenCA-SV. Up to here... I am in the midst of trying to upgrade openssl to SNAP
version AFTER installing OpenCA and its components just to make sure I can
finish the CA Initialization part....

It works when I use openssl 0.9.6b. Does not work if I use SNAP version, even
the latest one. Compile error at src/crypto/verify-tools.c at the function
"get_signed_...." If you need to know where exactly it has problem, I can try
it again and send you the output.
