It's detected that the user information should be in the XML file, but
the `credentials' are not there.

I don't know if `credentials' mean the data of the user, or the data
from the XML configuration file. (After all, I use OpenCA only since a
two weeks and am a newbie here. :-)

Is the user defined in etc/access_control/node.xml?

There must be a passwd element after <database>internal</database>;
just like in ra.conf in the same directory. That passwd element must
contain a user named root.

Otherwise, I have no idea either. Try to detect the code in
OpenCA/AC.pm that's between the two debug outputs

    OpenCA::AC->    database ..... internal
    OpenCA::AC->        credentials ... present

These are both output in the case of your RA server, but the execution
seems to abort after the first line in the node server.
