Dear Georg,
Seems there is no problem from the log file. Also, there should be a link in /etc/cron.hourly to /usr/sbin/check_mailscanner, so it should start MailScanner every one hour, if in case it is killed somehow. If it is not there, please create one by typing:
ln -sf /usr/sbin/check_mailscanner /etc/cron.hourly/
This should solve the problem.
